Patti LaBelle are known for the variety of their music styles-the range of their repertoire widens from simple pop music to ballads, and probably this fact contributed to their long success. The band's leader Patricia Holt, born in Philadelphia on May 24, 1944 made her first steps into her music career when very young singing in a local Baptist choir, and then, together with her friend Cindy Birdsong she formed a band named the Ordettes.
